Millwall 1 ITFC 3

A great away win for Town last Saturday at Millwall keeps Town’s promotion push going strong.

Millwall is not an easy place to play at as the fans are passionate and have been known to be intimidating at times, so this is an excellent result for Town.

Town came to the game with injury and illness problems but hoping to win against a Millwall team enduring their own problems at the bottom of the Championship. For Town, McGoldrick was out injured and Bishop and Skuse off sick still, so it was a chance for new Town player Freddie Sears to be on the bench.

Noel Hunt made a great start, scoring twice as Town took an early and commanding 2-0 lead but to their credit Millwall fought back in the game and scored a good goal themselves. This set up a tense period of play with Millwall pressing Town hard. Then on came Freddie Sears and Jonathan Parr and Town scored a fine third goal to put the game and Millwall’s chances of a comeback away! Clarke came on for Anderson to finish the game and he played well.

Well played Town. This result keeps Town in second place (and Derby lost against Forest!).

The next game is this coming Wednesday away at Brighton who are finding themselves under new manager Chris Hughton. I hope Town will have a strong and fit side to play this game and of course that Town can beat Brighton. I know this is quite possible and I’m sure the Town team do also, but they must work hard in all areas of the pitch to get a result.

COME ON TOWN!!
